Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has awarded the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) $56,730 in federal grants.

DPHSS was awarded health center quality improvement grants for making significant progress at its community health centers in the past year. Specifically, DPHSS:

Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo today wrote to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Office of Insular Affairs to request federal assistance for the Guam Memorial Hospital. Congresswoman Bordallo expressed her concern that Guam’s only public hospital may lose its Medicare provider status. She requested that time be granted for GMH to remedy deficiencies identified by CMS in a June 5, 2018 letter.
